Elizabeth M. Betty (McCudden) Proulx, 84, of Franklin, died peacefully, Thursday February 27, 2014 at the Milford Regional Medical Center following an illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James G. Proulx, Sr. who died in 2008. Born November 19, 1929 in Northbridge, a daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Hackett) McCudden, she was a resident of Franklin for over 60 years. Betty was raised and educated in Whitinsville, and worked as a nursing assistant at the former Franklin Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 25 years until her retirement in 1994. She treasured time spent with her family, reading poetry, writing, traveling, and was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens and a communicant of St. Marys Church, Franklin. Betty is survived by her children; James G. Proulx, Jr. and his wife Erin of Franklin, John R. Proulx and his wife Laurie of Ashburn, Virginia, Stephen M. Proulx and his wife Christine of Medway and Ann M. Doyle of Franklin. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Patricia M. Warren and Judith L. Miller. Relatives and friends were invited to attend her funeral Thursday March 6th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., Franklin with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Franklin at 10AM. Interment at St. Marys Cemetery will be held privately. Calling hours was on Wednesday, March 5th, from 4 - 8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Blaire House Adult Day Health Care, 20 Claflin St., Milford, MA 01757.
