Elizabeth A. Betty Noble 81, of Franklin, died peacefully, Monday December 28, 2015 at the Milford Regional Medical Center, following an illness. She was the beloved wife of James C. Noble, and they had just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve. Born November 21, 1934 in Natick, MA, she was the only daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (Winslow) Morrill. Elizabeth was raised and schooled in Hyde Park before marriage and then settled in Franklin in 1962 to raise a family. Following graduation at Hyde Park High School, she received a bachelors degree in education from Springfield College in 1956. Betty was a full time elementary school teacher for many years in the MA and CT school systems, before becoming a long time substitute teacher in Holliston. Most recently she was working in the Senior Work Program as an administrative clerk for chief of the Franklin Fire Department. After retiring from teaching, Betty was not one to slow down. Following decades as an officer and active member of the Alden Club, she devoted numerous long days to working at the Franklin polls. She was well known as a competitive cribbage player at the Franklin Senior Center, where she went frequently to spend time with friends. Betty enjoyed cruises, walking with the Trailblazers, reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was very proud of her efforts in crocheting and donating countless afghans to wounded veterans. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children; Lizanne C. Noble and her partner Peter Molander of Bellingham, Derek J. Noble and his partner Michelle Manning of Franklin, and David J. Noble and his wife Katherine of Old Greenwich, Connecticut. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Mari K., Charlie J., and Annie E. Noble. She was the sister of the late Frederick Morrill. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial calling hours Sat. Jan. 2nd from 3-5PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Words of Remembrance will be shared at 5pm and her interment will be held privately.
