Elizabeth R. (Kenrick) Smith, 85, of Weiser, Idaho, formerly of Bellingham, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, following a period of failing health, at the Weiser Rehabilitation Center in Idaho. She was the wife of Nelson E. Smith, who died Jan. 21, 1973. Born in Framingham, March 19, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Frank A. and Olive (Willis) Kenrick. Betty grew up in Framingham and Sherborn, was educated in Sherborn public schools and was a graduate of Sherborn High School. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Mrs. Smith had also worked for 25 years in the Janitorial Dept. at Dean Junior College in Franklin, prior to retiring. A resident of Weiser for the past 21 years, Betty had formerly made her home in Bellingham for 38 years. While her children were growing up, Mrs. Smith was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bellingham and later attended the First Baptist Church in Holliston. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Medway. Betty will always be remembered by all in Bellingham and Weiser for her love of flowers, plants and her yard, to which she devoted many pleasurable hours. Betty also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her best friend Blackie the cat. She is survived by her devoted children, Amber Bell of Florida, Pamela Holman of Norton, Sharon Termini of Florida, Wendy Fitch of Idaho and the late William Kenrick. She was the dear sister of Frances Kenrick of Florida and the late Olive Neitz, Norma Rowley and Ellen Wentworth. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Sterling Fitch and Cinda Fitch, both of Idaho, Lukas Termini of Florida and Jeffrey Holman of Norton; and was the proud great-grandmother of Elizabeth Pearl Fitch of Idaho; the sister-in-law of Laura Kenrick of Southborough, and the aunt of many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (off Rte. 140, Taunton Avenue), Norton.
