Elva (Aldaz) Magana 96, of Franklin, died peacefully, Wednesday January 11, 2012 at the Medway Country Manor, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Joe N. Magana who died in 1982. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, on November 22, 1915 a daughter of the late Abdon and Maria (Santellanes) Aldaz, she was a longtime resident of Pico Rivera, California before coming to Franklin in 2003. She was raised and educated in New Mexico, and until her retirement many years ago, worked as an assembler in the aero space industry in California. Elva treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by 2 sons; Richard M. Magana of Colorado, Henry B. Magana of California, and a daughter Mary H. Denny of Franklin, also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is the sister of the late Raul Aldaz, Molly Villegas and the grandmother of the late Paul & Michael Magana. Her funeral, with visitation beginning at 8:30AM will be Tuesday January 17th, from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Elva will be buried alongside her late husband on Friday Jan. 20th, at Resurrection Cemetery in South San Gabriel, California. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory sent to; Massachusetts Chapter 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472 would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Charles F. Oteri & Son.
