Francis A. Rezendes Obituary
Francis A. Frank Rezendes, 74, form- erly of Franklin, died Thur- sday July 30, 2015 at Milford Regional Medical Center, following an illness. He was the husband of the late Ann S. (Farley) Rezendes, who died in 2014. Born January 28, 1941 in New Bedford, a son of the late Antone M. and Floripes C. (Corvello) Rezendes, he was a former longtime Franklin resident, before moving to Mattapoisett several years ago. He was raised and educated in New Bedford and graduated from the former Coyle High School in 1958. He continued his education at the New Bedford Institute of Technology and graduated in 1962 with a degree in Textile Engineering. He received his Masters de- gree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Economics. He worked at the Zayers Department Store, was a Quality Control Engineer and re- tired as Senior Vendor Quality Engineer for the former Digital Equipment Corporation, retiring in 1999. Frank was a devout Cath- olic, who served his beloved parishes of St. Marys Church, Franklin and St. Anthonys Church, Mattapoisett as a lector and helped in numerous capacities. He joined the Sacred Heart Council #1847 Franklin Knights of Columbus in 1974; he held most offices in the 1st to 4th Degree and was a Past Grand Knight. Upon moving to Mattapoisett he joined the Damian Lodge Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed reading, history, crosswords puzzles and spe- nding time with his family. He is survived by 2 sons; Farley A. Rezendes and his wife Kristine of Lancaster, PA and Guy F. Rezendes and his wife Kimberley of Franklin, and his grandchildren, Heath, Cynthia, Hannah and Madison Rezendes. Relatives and friend are in- vited to attend his funeral Mass Thursday Aug. 6th, at 11 AM in St. Marys Church, One Church Sq. Franklin. Interment will be Friday at the family lot in St. Johns Cemetery, New Bedford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the Friends of Franklin 50 Corbin St. Franklin, MA 02038. Arrangements are under the care of the Charles F.
