Genevieve Jean (Szamreta) Wojciechowski 100, a former Franklin, and Sharon resident died peacefully, Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at the Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Home, following an extended period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Chester Wojciechowski, who died in 1999. Born in Chelsea, July 27, 1913 a daughter of the late Felix and Teofila (Jeromin) Szamreta, she was raised and educated in Chelsea, and lived in Sharon for many years until moving to Franklin, following her husbands passing. She retired as a packer for the Gustin-Kramer Company in Readville, Ma, where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon, and St. Marys Church, Franklin. She is survived by her son, Fr. John of Franklin, a daughter, Mary Ann Collins and her husband Joe of Franklin, a sister, Helen Szamreta of Hyde Park, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also the sister of the late Alfred, Edward and Phyllis Szamreta and Leonarda Kondracki. Relatives and friends were invited to attend her funeral Tuesday, Oct. 29th, at 10:15 a.m. from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., Franklin, with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Franklin at 11 a.m. Interment at Rockridge Cemetery, Sharon.
