George M. Cronin 55, of Franklin, died peacefully, Tuesday September 9, 2014 at Milford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the former husband of Maureen E. Davis of Upton. Born in Boston, February 27, 1959 a son of Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Albee) Cronin of Franklin and the late Mortimer J. "Moe" Cronin, he was a Franklin resident for many years. He was raised and educated in Franklin, and was a 1976 graduate of Franklin High School. He continued his education at the Franklin Institute of Technology, where he received an associate's degree in automotive technology. For the past 17 years George was the owner and operator of the Caryville Garage in Bellingham. He was also a former longtime mechanic for Molloy's Garage in Franklin. He enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, riding his Harley Davidson, going to car shows and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son Eric M. Spellman of Bonita Springs, FL, a daughter Danielle M. Partlow and her husband Geoff of Upton, a brother Kevin J. Cronin and his wife Elizabeth of Rochester, his grandchildren; Mac Elliott, Mason Partlow & Connor Spellman, his niece and nephews, Emily & Raymond Barron & Joshua & Patrick Cronin. He also leaves his companion Deb Batog of Franklin. He was the brother of the late Maureen J. Barron. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday Sept. 15th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery will be held privately.
