George W. Pulsifer Obituary
George W. Pulsifer of Franklin died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 a day after his 98th birthday. He was husband of the late Ruth (Wurtz) Pulsifer for over 40 years before her death in 2000. Born December 16, 1916 in Boston, he was a son of the late George H. and Mary (White) Pulsifer. He lived most of his life in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston and was a 1935 graduate of Roslindale High School. George was a coin collector, card player, and model train enthusiast. He was a WWII Veteran serving the US Coast Guard (1942-1946) serving on several boats including the USS Eberle. He worked as a MBTA motorman for many years before retiring in 1978. George moved to West Harwich in 1984 and then Franklin in 1999. He was brother of the late Mary Louise Watson and the late Ruth Bartoshevich. His survivors include his two daughters: Karen R. Clemens and her husband Richard of Beacon Falls, CT, and Debra J. Savery and her husband Mark of Franklin, MA; five grandchildren: Denise Sobireski, Jacquelyn Lynch, Nicholas Savery, Jason Savery and Theron Savery; four great-grandchildren: Anna Lynch, Melissa Sobireski, Sean Lynch and Asher Savery; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, December 29 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Harwich.
