James M. Marchand 51, of Franklin, died peacefully, Thursday January 9, 2014 at the Tippett Home with his family at his side following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Lynne M. (Sweeney) Marchand. Born June 17, 1962 in Boston, a son of the late William J. Marchand, Jr. and Joan A. (Bounker) Marchand, he was a longtime Franklin resident and was a former resident of Medway. He was raised and educated in Medway, and worked as a personal care attendant for 20 years. Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, the Red Sox and was an avid collector of swords & knifes. He was a devoted husband, brother and friend. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Franklin and was a former member of the APA Pool League. In addition to his wife of 22 years he is survived by his brothers & sisters; William J. Marchand III of Hyannis, Maryanne Marchand of Manomet, John Marchand of Blackstone, Cecilia Marchand of Blackstone, Francis Marchand and his wife Paula of Blackstone, Norman Marchand and his wife Naomi of Cedarville and Theresa Doiron of Manomet. Also surviving is a sister in law and brother in law Brian and Mary Beth Mohan of Wellesley and a brother in law George Sweeney, Jr. of North Attleboro, his mother in law Mary Sweeney of Franklin, 22 nieces and nephews, and 2 god children and his yellow lab "Precious". Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday Jan. 13th at 11AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 12Noon. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
