Jessie A. Barter Obituary
Jessie Ann (Calarese) Barter, 80, of Franklin, died peacefully, at her home, with family at her side, Saturday June 18, 2016 following an illness. She was the beloved wife of Richard E. Dick Barter. Born February 22, 1936 in Boston, a daughter of the late Frank and Caroline (Bartlett) Calarese, she was a Franklin resident for over 55 years. She was raised and educated in the Hyde Park section of Boston and was a homemaker. Jessie lived a happy life filled with a devoted husband, caring children, grandchildren and wonderful friends. She enjoyed traveling, music, dancing and quality time with her family. She was an active grandmother and adored her two granddaughters, Caroline and Cassandra. Her love for her husband was admirable as they were a symbol of love for 58 years. She also had a strong spiritual presence, which we found to be a very positive trademark. We will miss her laugh, her love, her voice and her guidance that we always welcomed. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters Lorraine A. Saad and her husband David of Norwood, Dianne L. Saywell and her husband Robert of Port Charlotte, Florida, two granddaughters Caroline and Cassandra Saad, her brothers, Eugene Al Calarese of Canton, Arthur Calarese and John Calarese of Franklin, and a sister Mary Padula of Brockton. She was the sister of the late Francis and William Calarese, Caroline Wilson, Dorothy Fiore, Theresa Coady, Sarah Kennedy and Cecila Calarese. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday, June 23, at 9:15 a.m. from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church 1 Church Sq., Franklin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472. Guestbook/directions www.oterifuneralhome.com
