John F. Jack Chestercove 69, of Franklin, died at his home Saturday December 20, 2014. He was the husband of the late Susan D. (Hooban) Chestercove. Born April 27, 1945 in Milford, a son of Joseph S. Chestercove of Franklin and the late Shirley (Feeley) Chestercove, he was a lifelong Franklin resident. He was educated in Franklin schools, and until his retirement several years ago worked as a machinist for Plainville Machine Works. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, and attained the rank of Seaman; he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Navy Unit Commendation, he was honorably discharged in November 1966. John enjoyed spending time with his family, motorcycles, fishing, working on cars and listening to Johnny Cash. In addition to his father, he is survived by his children; Erica L. Earl and her husband Steven of Franklin, Candice A. Hastings and her husband Robert of Franklin, William S. Robinson and his wife Tina of Franklin, Carie F. Pimenta of North Carolina and Eric J. Saulnier of New Bedford, 2 sisters Patricia J. Santoro and her husband James of Franklin & Judy A. Picchi and her husband Armand of Franklin. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren. He was the father of the late Jack D. Chestercove. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service Tuesday Dec. 30th at 12PM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Interment at St. Marys Cemetery will be held at a later date. Calling hours are Tuesday from 10AM-12PM prior to the service.
