Obituary Condolences

John "Chuck" Hunt, formerly of Hopkinton passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, September 10, 2011. He was very recently predeceased by Joyce, his beloved wife of 65 years. Chuck was 87 years old, born and raised in Hopkinton by the late Ruth and John Hunt. A graduate of Hopkinton High School, Chuck was a veteran of World War II, where he served most of his time in the Military Police in Italy. An avid sports enthusiast, Chuck was a member of the Stonethrowers, a semi-pro football team, and a die-hard Red Sox fan. He enjoyed bowling,reading, and music. A mailman in Hopkinton for 30+ years, Chuck retired to Florida with his wife Joyce where they lived for 25 years before returning to this area to live with their daughter, Cheryl in Ashland. Chuck was first a loving husband and father. He genuinely cared about people and loved to hear their stories. He never missed a chance to strike up a conversation with anyone. Chuck will be dearly missed by his four children, Cheryl Hunt, Stephen Hunt, Karen McCaw, and Ellen Hunt, two sons-in-law Steven McCaw and Jack Fitzgerald, one daughter-in-law, Maria Farese, 6 grand children, Nicole Stewart, Adam Hunt, Jamie Laperle, Justin Hunt, Maia Laperle, and Kate McCaw, his brother, Fred Hunt, 4 great grand children, Boden, Aidan, Keenan, and Grayson, as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned at the Federated Church, 118 Main Street, Ashland on Friday, September 16 at 11:30a.m. The MetroWest Funeral Home of Wadsworeth | Chiappini is assisting the Hunt Family with thre arrangements. www.wadsworth.chiappini.com
