Joseph A. Marcolini Obituary
Joseph A. Marcolini, 84, of Plainville MA. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Feb. 19th 2013. Born in Milford on Aug 27, 1928, he was the loving son of the late Carlo and Esther (Minoli) Marcolini. He retired in 1987 from Werber and Rose Furniture, where he was the General Manager. He then resided in Plant City Florida for 18 years where he was an avid golfer, shuffleboard and pool player, and enjoyed many other activities. He resided in Plainville for the past 7 years where he enjoyed most of all spending time with his family and woodworking in his workshop. He was a decorated Army veteran of the Korean War where he served his country proudly. He was the recipient of many medals of honor, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign War. Joe was the beloved husband of Ann (Puntonio) Marcolini. He is also survived by his devoted children, Luann Ripp of Melville NY, Betty Bluestein of Franklin MA, Susan King of Ellijay GA, Stephen Tomaso of Milford MA, Sharon Sullivan of Cumberland RI, Ritchie Marcolini of Cumberland RI, Rhonda Alger of Franklin MA. He was the loving grandfather to, Jennifer, Jacquelynn, Christopher, David, Edward Jr., Tamra, Samantha, Emma, Molly, Joseph, Katherine and great grandfather to Jackson. Brother to Henry, Helen, Lena and William; predeceased by Theresa, Angelo and Mary. Joe was a man who cherished and was cherished by his wife, family and friends. He enjoyed his wife's cooking, and the hours spent in his workshop. A memorial service will be held on Sat. Mar. 9th at 11:00am at the Plainville Baptist Church, 62 South St. Plainville MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of Joe's journey to be with the Lord.
