Joseph J. Kutil Jr. Obituary
Joseph J. Kutil Jr., 86 of Franklin, died Monday July 11, 2016 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Marcella L. (Blair) Kutil, who died in 2007. Born in Somerville, Mass. January 11, 1930 a son of the late Joseph J. Kutil Sr. and Muriel R. (Woodward) Kutil, he was raised and educated in Springfield, Mass. where he lived for many years. He moved to Franklin in 1962. Mr. Kutil was a retired engineer and worked for the Internav Corp. in Bedford, Mass. He served in the US Navy during the closing months of the Korean conflict. He attained the rank of Communications Specialist 2nd class. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, and was honorably discharged in September 1956 after 4 years of faithful service. His hobbies and interests included motorcycling, boating, trips to Plymouth and Cape Cod, and old war movies. A devoted family man with a dry sense of humor, he enjoyed his vegetable gardening and family cookouts. He is survived by a son Joseph J. Kutil III of Franklin, 3 daughters: Ann L. Travers of Franklin, Linda K. Foss of Bellingham, Ellen C. Castagnaro of Alton Bay, New Hampshire, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Thursday July 14th from 4-7 PM.
