Joseph P. Mussi Obituary
Joseph P. Mussi 92, of Franklin, died peacefully, Friday January 29, 2016 at the Franklin Health & Rehabilitation Center, following an illness. He was the husband of the late Clara C. (DeGregorio) Mussi, who died in 2009. Born April 20, 1923 in Franklin, a son of the late John and Adele (Botti) Mussi, he was a longtime Franklin resident. He was raised and educated in Norfolk, and worked as a machinist for the F.W. Bird & Sons in Walpole and was also a custodian for the Franklin School Department. A proud Untied States Marine, he served during World War II and attained the rank of Corporal; he received the Purple Heart and was honorably discharged in October 1945. Josephs life was his family, grandchildren and friends; he was an avid hunter and enjoyed singing. He was a member of the Franklin VFW, the Marine Corps League, the National Rifle Association and the Improved Order of Redman Wonewok Tribe 83, Franklin. Joseph is survived by his daughters; Kathleen A. Heist of Haddonfield, New Jersey, Barbara J. Ferioli and Camille F. Beaudreau both of Franklin, a sister, Florence Freeman of Franklin, his grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, Amy Smyth, Julie Ferioli, Katie Kastanek, Stacey Beaudreau, Douglas Beaudreau, Jill Beaudreau, Brenton Heist, Kirk Heist and 6 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Francis Bertone, Aldo Bertoni, Alfred Mussi and Mary Vozzella. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Thursday Feb. 4th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Franklin at 10AM. Interment with military honors will follow at the parish cemetery.
