Josephine (Martello) Luccini 95, of Franklin, died peacefully, Monday March 3, 2014 at the Milford Regional Medical Center with her family at her side, following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Nello Luccini, Sr., for 70 years prior to his passing in 2011. Born October 16, 1918 in Franklin, a daughter of the late Angelo and Guilia (Silveri) Martello, she was a lifelong Franklin resident. Josephine was educated in Franklin schools, and worked as a Supervisor in the hand bag division of the former Whiting & Davis Company in Plainville for many years until retiring. She enjoyed bingo,card playing, traveling, and spending time with her family in Harwichport on Cape Cod. She was a member of St. Marys Church in Franklin. She is survived by 2 sons; Nello Luccini, Jr. and his wife Susan (Swenson) Luccini of Franklin, Robert Luccini of Franklin, a daughter in law Katherine (Kinsella) Luccini of Franklin, a brother Alfred D. Fred Martello of Franklin, & 2 sisters, Ann Balser of Attleboro, and Pauline Manocchio of Franklin. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Michael and his wife Lisa Luccini, Brian and his wife Kim Luccini, Cheryl & Beth Luccini, Derek and his wife Chrissy Luccini, Denise Luccini, and her great grandchildren; Michael, Matthew, Christina, Molly, Noah, & Alex Luccini, Marissa, Bethy, & Christopher Palladini, a niece Stella Frascotti a nephew Louis Frascotti and his wife Rachela. She was the mother of the late L. Gary Luccini and sister of the late Mary Bertoni, Anthony Martello, Elynor Vendetti, Phyllis Certuse, John A. Junior Martello and Harry Martello. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday Mar. 7th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Franklin at 10AM. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Thurs. from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Franklin Senior Center 10 Daniel McCahill Way Franklin, MA 02038.
