Josephine S. (DiCecco) Ribero 75, of Warren, passed away peacefully, Monday April 21, 2014 at the Crestwood Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Lester E. Ribero, Jr. Born October 19, 1938 in Franklin, a daughter of the late Guistino and Maria (DAniello) DiCecco, she was raised and educated in Franklin, and was a resident of Rhode Island since 1978. Josephine married her high school sweetheart at the age of 19, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved her Italian heritage. She treasured her family dearly and enjoyed knitting, crafts and cooking. She also volunteered her time for the PACE Organization. In addition to her husband of 55 years she is survived by her children; Leslie A. Jackson and her husband William of East Providence, Cheryl A. Wood of North Providence, Suzanne M. Balassone and her husband Henry of Johnston, and James A. Ribero and his wife Lorri of Cumberland, 3 loving sisters, Sylvia Ficco of Franklin, Karen Farnham of Rochester, NY, and Maria Cottle of Franklin. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Ian, Amy & Jennifer Wood, Justin Perron, James & Ryan Ribero, Domenic Balassone & 2 great grandchildren Olivia Wood and Finnian Lyon & many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert Bobby DiCecco. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday April 25th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Franklin at 10AM. Her interment will be held privately. Calling hours are Thurs. from 5-8PM.
