Lawrence Dayian Obituary
Lawrence Stephen Dayian, 98, of Franklin, died Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Daglian) Dayian, who died in 2014. Born in Smyrna, Turkey November 1, 1917 a son of the late Khoren and Zabel Dayian, he was a resident of Franklin since the age of two. He attended the Franklin public schools and was a 1935 graduate of Franklin High School. A World War II veteran he was one of the early draftees in March of 1941 and served with the 101st Infantry of the 26th (Yankee) Division as a radio operator. He was discharged in Nov. of 1945 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired from the Foxboro Co. in 1982 where he worked as a quality control inspector on computer, refinery and nuclear power systems. He was a violinist and played in area concert and symphony orchestras. He is survived by a son Larry Dayian and his wife Terry of Sandwich, a daughter Karen Russo and her husband Joe of Franklin 2 granddaughters, Sarah Russo and her fianc Mark Williamson of Chicago, Illinois, Christine Desjardin and her husband Dan of Sutton, and a brother Charles Dayian of Fl. He was the brother of the late Arthur & Ophelia Dayian. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Saturday Dec. 12th, at 11AM in St. Johns Episcopal Church 237 Pleasant St. Franklin. Interment with military honors will follow at Union Street Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to Olivia Fund Comfort Cart Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect St. Milford, MA 01757 or Franklin Senior Center, 10 Daniel Mc Cahill St. Franklin, MA 02038.
