Lorraine E. (Demers) Druan 94, of Franklin, died peacefully, at her home, with her family by her side, Wednesday September 23, 2015, following an illness. She was the wife of Robert J. Druan and the late Romeo Ronnie Palumbo, who died in 1991. Born December 11, 1920 in Taunton, a daughter of the late William and Abigail (Lewis) Demers, she was a longtime Franklin resident. She was raised and educated in Attleboro, and until her retirement several years ago, worked as an administrative assistant for Dr. C. Edward Poirier, DMD. Lorraine was the center of her family and treasured every minute spent with them. She was a former member of the St. Marys Catholic Womens Club and participated in St. Marys Churchs music and theater shows years ago. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Ronald D. Palumbo of Providence, Randall L. Palumbo and his wife Susan of Wrentham, 2 daughters, Lorraine A. Getchell and her husband William of Norfolk, Rona J. Palumbo and her longtime companion John W. Cronin of Wareham, a stepson, Robert J. Druan, Jr. of Milford, 2 stepdaughters, Susette Wright of Sturbridge, and Julie Quartchio of Maine, 3 brothers, Allen & Ronald Demers both of Wareham, & David Demers of Middleboro, 2 sisters, Marilyn Chartier & Mona Sukeforth both of Middleboro, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Lois Nielson, Phyllis Barbato, Robert Bobby Demers, Donald Demers & William Buddy Demers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday Sept. 26th at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Franklin at 10AM. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Friends of Franklin 50 Corbin St. Franklin, MA 02038.
