Louis G. George Gaudet 83, of Franklin, died peacefully, with his family by his side, Monday September 7, 2015, at Milford Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Carol A. (Baccari) Gaudet, who died in 2014. Born December 22, 1931 in Waltham, a son of the late Denis and Victoire (Chiasson) Gaudet, he was a Franklin resident since 1960. He was raised and educated in Waltham, where he was a 1949 graduate of St. Marys High School and continued his education at Northeastern University. Louis worked as a production manager for the Raytheon Corporation for over 20 years before retiring. Louis entered the United States Army in October of 1952, during the Korean War, he attained the rank of Sargent, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge and he also received a Presidential Unit Citation. He was honorably discharged in August 1954. He was a Life Member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks, where he served as manager and treasurer, a Life Member of Sacred Heart Council Franklin Knights of Columbus, was a Past Commander of the Franklin VFW Post #3402, and a Past President of Franklin Pop Warner. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Hopedale Country Club and he also enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by 3 sons; Brian L. Gaudet and his wife Patti of Norfolk, Gary G. Gaudet & David A. Gaudet both of Franklin, a brother Edmond Gaudet and his wife Germaine of Westerville, Ohio, a sister Eileen Cox and her husband Larry of Banning, California, a brother-in-law Paul Leone West Newton, & a sister-in-law Margaret Gaudet of Waltham. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Nicole, Gary, Michael, Jesse, Michael, Meghan, Michaela, Thomas, Elizabeth, Matthew, Christopher, 3 great grandchildren; Hayden, Shelby, Abigail and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was the father of the late Thomas V. Gaudet, Anthony Gaudet and the brother of the late Joseph, Alphonse, Clifford, Elizabeth and Dehlia Gaudet. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Fri. Sept. 11th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Marys Cemetery.
