Louis H. Blaine 66, of Franklin, died peacefully, Tuesday October 23, 2012 at Norwood Hospital, with his family at his side following an illness. He was the beloved husband of Valerie I. (Smith) Blaine for 44 years. Born in Boston, on October 26, 1945 a son of the late Louis H. and Helen A. (Aimo) Blaine, he was a lifelong resident of Allston before moving to Franklin in 2006. Louis was a 1963 graduate of Brighton High School and he worked in the shipping and receiving department for the Honeywell Bull Corporation for 35 years. Better known as Lou or Louie to his friends and Henry to his close family he enjoyed spending time all over New England. Kingston, MA, Wells, ME and Hampton Beach, NH were some of the places he made great memories with friends and family. He also enjoyed playing golf, going to Celtics and Patriots games and always making people laugh and smile. Henry treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren - taking them to the zoo, the aquarium, the park and many other places. Lou was a volunteer at the Franklin Senior Center where he worked in the kitchen, sang at various holiday parties and was a companion to members of the Sunshine Club. He also was a coach in the Allston North Little League for many years - creating the post game celebration of "We're getting Slurpees!!" In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Michelle M. Blaine of Watertown, a son Louis P. Blaine and his wife Renee of Franklin, and his beloved grandchildren; Louis A. Blaine-LaSanta, Jazmine H. Blaine-LaSanta and Finn Henry Blaine. Relatives and friends attended his calling hours on Saturday October 27th, from 2-5PM at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin. www.oterifuneralhome.com. His funeral service and interment will be held privately.
