She was a graduate of Middlesex School of Nursing in 1950 and worked at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago in the early 50s. While there she worked in one of the first intensive care units in the country and volunteered to do polio nursing during the epidemic. In her earlier years she worked at Crosby Valve, and for the former Dr. Fabricotti as a veterinarian assistant. Locally she taught first aid and CPR for many years and also assisted at numerous hospitals and nursing facilities. She was a former chairman of the Lake and Watershed Committee in Wrentham for several years and served on the Board of Health for two terms. Margaret was an environmentalist; she was concerned about the world, all its animals and people. She was an avid photographer who photographed stone walls, old barns, cars, and enjoyed traveling by car on all the back roads. She also was a prolific letter- writer, and never shied away from a political debate. She leaves many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
