Mary A. DeBaggis, 93, of Wrentham and a former longtime Franklin resident, died peacefully Friday February 14, 2014 at the Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Center following a long illness. Born April 9, 1920 in Franklin, a daughter of the late Diego and Josephine (Colobouno) DeBaggis she was raised and educated in Franklin. In her earlier years, Mary worked for the former JJ Newburys department store in downtown Franklin. She also devoted her life to care for her brother the late Joseph N. DeBaggis. She was an avid bowler and was a passionate Boston Red Sox fan. Mary is survived by a nephew and niece, William and Carol Sheehan of Middletown, R.I. She is the sister of the late Sylvia Stein, Lucy Sheehan, Christine Hume, Elmiro, Anthony, and Ernest DeBaggis. Relatives and friends were invited to attend her funeral Wednesday Feb. 19th, at 9:30AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., Franklin with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Franklin at 10 AM. Interment followed at the parish cemetery.
