Mary Lou Scoop (Collins) Cameron, 78, a longtime Franklin resident, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Milford Regional Medical Center, following an extended period of failing health. She was the wife of Richard T. Deacon Cameron, who died in 1994. Born in Newton, Aug. 11, 1932, a daughter of the late William H. and Mary J. (Liston) Collins, she lived in Franklin for most of her life, and also resided in Oak Bluffs, Marthas Vineyard, for nine years before moving back to Franklin. Mrs. Cameron retired from the Town of Franklin where she worked as a dispatcher for the Franklin Police Dept. and also as an assistant town clerk. She was a longtime communicant of St. Marys Church and a former member of St. Marys Catholic Womens Club. She is survived by one son, Richard W. Cameron of Woonsocket, R.I.; five daughters, Donna L. Martin of Bellingham, Deborah A. Gomes, Dale M. Rossetti, and Denise M. Rossetti, all of Franklin, Diane L. Cameron of Plainville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late William Collins and Judith Hughes. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Tuesday, June 28, at 9:15 a.m., at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Marys Church, 1 Church Square, Franklin. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, June 27, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Donations in her memory sent to the , 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472, would be appreciated.
