Matthew Flaherty-Whittier Obituary
Matthew T. Flaherty-Whittier 16, died peacefully but unexpectedly on Dec. 25 from complications of cerebral palsy. Matt was the loving son of Jennifer L. Whittier and Dwight C. Whittier. Loving and proud big brother of Timothy J. Whittier of Bridgewater and grandson of Bernard Flaherty of Quincy, Rodney and Shirley Whittier of Salem. Matt lived a bright and full life despite his disabilities associated with cerebral palsy. He attended South Shore Educational Collaboration He loved his brother, Dad, Grandfather and Mom, and pretty much anybody that came near him. Matthew loved everyone and was a sweetheart. He loved being hugged or just having his head rubbed he loved to listen to music especially Johnny cash and his favorite thing at night was to stare at the stars and glow lights that hung above his bedroom bed. He was a wonderful son and will be missed by all that knew him. Matt also known as "Matt-Chu Tiger" leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Wednesday Jan. 4th at 9am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St. Bridgewater at 10:00am and burial will follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the funeral home on Tues. Jan. 3rd from 5-8pm.
