Michael J. Hallion, 70, of Franklin, died peacefully, at home Wednesday March 19, 2014 following an illness. He was the husband of MaryAnn (MacNeil) Hallion. Born October 7, 1943 in Somerville a son of the late Howard F. Hallion, Sr. and Mary R. (Cornell) Hallion, he was a resident of Franklin for over 40 years and was a former resident of Somerville and Swampscott. He was raised and educated in Somerville, where he attended St. Clements School and was a graduate of Boston State College where he received a bachelors degree in English. He was a retired supervisor for the former Kemper Insurance Company in Boston. Michael served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Specialist 4th class; he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged in August 1969. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, summers at the cottage at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, reading, watching sports, and followed current affairs & politics. Michael was a former census worker and was a member of St. Marys Church in Franklin, where he taught CCD and was a volunteer at the annual St. Roccos festival. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons; Mark A. Hallion and his girlfriend Rebecca A. Jadach of Franklin, Jacob R. Hallion and his girlfriend Stephanie Carlisle of Franklin, 2 stepdaughters; Andrea Solomon and her husband Scott of Millis and Leanne Geiser and her husband Mark of Walpole, 2 sisters; M. Ellen Fitzgerald of Peabody, Ruth Bobzin and her husband Jeff of Harvard, 2 brothers; William Hallion and his wife Patricia of Swampscott, Robert Hallion and his wife Misty of Westford, a sister in law Brenda Hallion of Beverly and 3 grandchildren; Nicholas, Nathan and Samatha Solomon & many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his former wife Josephine C. Domenici of Brattleboro, Vermont and her family. He is the father of the late David M. Hallion and the brother of the late Howard F. Hallion, Jr., Eileen Hallion, and brother in law of the late Gerald Fitzgerald. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral with military honors Saturday Mar. 22nd, at 11:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., Franklin with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, 1 Church Sq., Franklin at 12Noon. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
