Nancy M. Munroe Obituary
Nancy Marie (Mangiacotti) Munroe, 58, of Stoney Brook Lane, Wrentham, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 upon arrival at Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood after having been stricken ill at her residence. She was the wife of Robert J. Munroe, Retired B.F.D., to whom she was married on June 22, 1975. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 21, 1952, she was a daughter of Francis Anthony Mangiacotti of Wrentham and the late Rita Cecile (LaBonte) Mangiacotti who died on January 30, 2008. Raised and educated in the Hyde Park section of Boston, Mrs. Munroe was a 1970 graduate of Hyde Park High School. She had been employed as an administrative assistant for the Cumberland Farm company headquarters in Canton from 2000 | 2005. Previously, Mrs. Munroe was the owner and operator of the former Seasons Change gift shop in Wrentham, a unique gift shop that sold hand made items created by talented artists, for five years where she spent many happy times with customers and artisians. Her creativity was abounding in her home as she decorated and turned her house into a home for her family. A resident of Wrentham since 1994, Mrs. Munroe previously resided in her native Hyde Park community. Known as the life of the party, her flare for creativity, decorating, cooking and baking were among her favorite pastimes. She was proudest of the moment she was featured on a local television station morning program demonstrating her cooking abilities where she featured her baked ham steak with a secret ingredient. The consummate hostess, she treasured the times entertaining family and friends and for the social teas she would host. Her family recalls with affection a woman who loved to laugh and smile. In addition to her husband of 35 years and her father, she leaves a son: Justin R. Munroe and his wife, Dana Signe K. Munroe, of Cranston, Rhode Island; a daughter: Danielle J. Pollard and her husband, Paul R. Pollard III, of Wrentham; Nana to Alexander Vaughn Pollard of Wrentham; a sister: Frances R. Mangiacotti of Quincy and Texas; a sister-in-law: Cynthia A. (Higgins) Mangiacotti of Southborough and several extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Paul Michael Mangiacotti who died on August 20, 2007. A Celebration of Her Life was held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home Memorial donations in Mrs. Munroes name and memory may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
