Robert J. Druan 87, of Franklin, died peacefully, Sunday January 17, 2016 at his daughters home in Maine, following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Lorraine E. (Demers) Druan, who died in 2015 and the late Eleanor C. (Kucherer) Druan, who died in 1994. Born July 9, 1928 in Boston a son of the late Ernest J. and Mary (Looney) Druan, he was a former resident of Hyde Park before moving to Franklin in 1991. He was raised and educated in Boston, and was a Senior Construction Supervisor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 42 years, he retired in 1990. He served in the United States Marine Corps and attained the rank of Private; he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in May 1947. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, watching the Boston Red Sox & the New England Patriots, was a devout catholic and a former Past Grand Knight of Msgr. J. Chittick Council, Knights of Columbus, Hyde Park. He is survived by his children; Robert J. Druan, Jr. of Worcester, Allyson Lavigne of Taunton, Susette M. Wight and her husband Daniel of Sturbridge, Julie A. Hastings-Quattrochio and her husband Donald of Maine, his stepchildren, Ronald D. Palumbo of Providence, Randall L. Palumbo and his wife Susan of Wrentham, Lorraine A. Getchell and her husband William of Norfolk and Rona J. Palumbo and her longtime companion John Cronin of Wareham, a sister Helen M. Druan of Whitman, a brother Frank R. Druan of Florida, 17 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren. Bob was the brother of the late Ernest J. Druan, Jr. and Walter P. Druan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wed. Jan. 20th at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Franklin at 10AM. Interment with military honors will follow at the parish cemetery.
