Rose T. (DiRiego) Pepin, 90, of Franklin died March 24, 2014 in the Medway Country Manor. She was the wife of Edmond J. Pepin, Jr. who died in 1999. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 14, 1923, the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Masino) DiRiego, Mrs. Pepin was raised in Philadelphia and had lived in Franklin since 1956. She was a graduate of Hallahan High School in Philadelphia. Mrs. Pepin had been a teller at Dean Bank in Franklin for many years until her retirement. She had previously worked at Mammoth Mart in Franklin; Varjians Laundromat in Franklin and had been a crossing guard in Philadelphia. Mrs. Pepin had been a member and trustee of the Sons of Italy, and had served on the Board of the Franklin Senior Center. She had also been a volunteer for the Franklin 4th of July celebrations and St. Roccos Fair. Rose was very dedicated to her family and also her extended family. She is survived by her daughters, Diana P. Henkel and her husband James G. Henkel of West Hartford, Connecticut, and Joanne Karistianos and her husband Anthony of Franklin. She was the sister of the late Louis and Augustus DiRiego and Angela Nasuti. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristin Henkel Cistulli and her husband Mark of West Hartford, Todd Henkel of Lancaster, California, and Jennifer Karistianos of Franklin, and her great-grandchildren, David, Scarlett and Paul Cistulli. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, March 29 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street in Franklin at 11:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church at Noon. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or Shriners Hospital-Boston, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
