Ruth E. (Pond) Mason 101, of Franklin, died peacefully, Wednesday September 18, 2013, at home with her family at her side following an illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Harvey C. Mason. Born March 7, 1912 in Chelsea, a daughter of the late Winthrop & Beatrice (Elliott) Pond, she was a Franklin resident for the past 4 years, and was a former longtime resident of North Conway, New Hampshire. She was raised and educated in Chelsea, and until her retirement several years ago, worked at the Richard Packer Gallery in North Conway, NH. Ruth was a devoted mother, she adored her grandchildren, was a kind and generous hearted person who would take time to listen and talk with everyone. An avid reader, she also enjoyed playing the piano, singing and watching the New England Patriots. Ruth was always interested in current politics, and could be seen watching FOX News and Bill OReilly. She was a member of the Anglican Church of the Redeemer and attended the Community Church in Medway. Ruth is survived by her children; Carol G. Goldman and her husband Len with whom she lived in Franklin, Jean E. Mason of Groton, Nancy E. Hughes of Londonderry, NH, and the late William H. Mason. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Christopher E. Hill, Stephannie J. Hill, Jennifer Mason, Christi Mason, Shelley L. Mason, Erica A. Gradwol, Michael Hughes, Travis W. Mason and her great grandchildren; Christopher E. Hill, Jr., Samantha E. Hill, Autumn L.G. Thomas, Matthew P. Young, Dylan M. Hughes and Morgan Hughes. She was the sister of the late Hazel W. Kearns, William and Paul Pond. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service and celebration of her life, Saturday September 28th, at 11AM at the Anglican Church of the Redeemer 31 Hayward St. Franklin, MA 02038. Interment will be held privately. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Building Fund c/o Anglican Church of the Redeemer.
