Scott David Francis, age 40, a longtime critical care paramedic with Rhode Island Hospital, died suddenly, Tuesday November 26, 2013 at his home in Franklin, MA. He was the beloved husband of Nancy M. (Boudreau) Francis. Born March 13, 1973 in Warwick, RI a son of John J. Francis, Jr. & Lana J. (Demers) Francis of Warwick, he was a former resident of Warwick, and Foxborough, before moving to Franklin this past February. He was raised and educated in Warwick, where he was a graduate of Toll Gate High School Class of 1991. Scott continued his education at the University of Rhode Island and was a graduate of the Blackstone Valley EMS program. He was currently working as a critical care paramedic for Rhode Island Hospital & Hasbro's Children's Hospital and formerly worked for New England Ambulance and South Kingstown EMS. He was upon completing the nursing program at Excelsior College, and was a mentor to many of the paramedics in the Rhode Island community. Scott was a devoted husband and father; he treasured time spent with his children, especially when going to Dave & Buster's, visiting water parks, caring for their growing home garden, playing ball out in their yard, and going for family hikes in the woods. Scott was also an avid baseball fan and, enjoyed astronomy, the martial art of Hapkito, the San Francisco 49ers, and a newly acquired hobby of target shooting. As a medic, he devoted his life to caring for the ill and less fortunate. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by 2 sons Aidan S. Francis & Liam D. Francis, a brother Jason E. Francis of Cranston, RI, sister in law and brother in laws, Linda M. Anderson and her husband David of Medway, and Brenda L. Boudreau and her fianc Greg Pavlisko of Mendon, a mother-in-law Mary P. (Keady) Boudreau of Franklin. Also surviving is his niece Macelyn R. Pavlisko and nephews Jackson P. Pavlisko and Conor J. Anderson. He was the son-in-law of the late Lawrence P. Boudreau who passed away earlier this year. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday Dec. 3rd, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church One Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
