Sophie C. (Ravinski) Swenson 92, of Franklin, died peacefully, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at her home following an illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Evert A. Swenson who died in 2011. Born into a family of 12 children, April 30, 1921 in Norfolk, a daughter of the late Felix and Frances (Lubinski) Ravinski, she was raised on a small farm in Norfolk, and was educated in Norfolk and Walpole schools. She married her love Evert, while he was still in the United States Navy during WWII. Following his discharge they soon moved to Franklin to raise 3 children of their own, while her husband and his brother built up a small lumber company, Pine Tree Lumber Company & Swenson Brothers, on Dean Avenue in Franklin, which later became Franklin Homes Inc. a successful home building company. Sophie will always be remembered as a wonderful, loving wife and mother. She was kind and respectful to everyone she knew. She is survived by her daughter Susan K. Luccini and her husband Nello of Franklin, two sisters, Helen Rokicki of Norfolk and Irene Kazuschyk of Franklin, four grandchildren, Kellie Swenson Cooke, Derek J. Luccini, Denise Anne Luccini, Christina Vendetti, and 3 great-grandchildren, Noah E. and Alex J. Luccini and Audrey Sophia Cooke. She was the mother of the late David E. Swenson and Anne F. Vendetti and the sister of the late Thomas, Henry, John, Albert, Edward, Stanley, Robert Ravinski, Mary Banning and Leo Schultz. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Tuesday, April 1st at 11a.m. in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., Franklin. Her interment at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton will be held privately. Calling hours are Tuesday from 9:30 -11 a.m. prior to the service.
