Theofan George Kotros, 86, of Bellingham, died February 23, in Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Lucretia (Varelas) Kotros for 47 years prior to her death in 1994. Born in Malden, June 28, 1925, the son of the late George T. and Demetra (Georgakopoulous) Kotros, Mr. Kotros was raised in Arlington and Dorchester and had lived in Franklin for 30 years prior to moving to Bellingham 20 years ago. Mr. Kotros served as a civilian employee of the US Army at the Natick Research and Development Labs in Natick and also at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard as an electrician for 32 years. He also had operated his own electrical repair company Kotros Electric. Mr. Kotros was the first licensed electric inspector for the Town of Franklin. Mr. Kotros served in the Coast Guard during World War II, attaining the rank of Electricians Mate Third Class. He was the Past Commander of the Medway VFW, Post 1526 and Past Commander of the American Legion, George Menechios, Post 324 in Boston. He also was a member of the Franklin Elks Club. Mr. Kotros had been an amateur boxer and a member of the Southside Gym in Roslindale. He was a member of Ring 4 Veterans Boxing Association and member of its Hall of Fame. He is survived by his sons George Kotros of Bellingham, Steven Kotros of Worcester, Arthur Kotros and his wife Carol of Mendon and Lewis Kotros and his wife Theresa of Hudson. He is also survived by his brother Chris Kotros of N. Smithfield, RI. and his sisters Jennie Kleary and her husband Peter of Folsom, Ca. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alison Cullity and her husband Daniel of Rollinsford, NH. and Nicholas Kotros of Franklin and many great-grandchildren. His funeral will be held on Monday, February 27 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main St. Franklin at 10:00 followed by a Funeral Service in St. Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, 1007 West St. Mansfield at 11:00. Burial will be in Union Street Cemetery Franklin.Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4-8. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
