Thomas Allen Wagner, Jr. of Franklin passed away suddenly early on the morning of Saturday, August 3, 2013. A longtime resident of Franklin, Tom, as he was known, was born Providence, RI on May 14, 1943, to the late Thomas Allen Wagner Sr. and the late Anne Elizabeth (Cashman) Wagner. Tom grew up in North Kingstown, RI. He attended Babson College in Wellesley, MA, earning a BS in Accounting as well as an MBA. He also taught there for several years. He retired in September, 2012 from The Harvard Coop, where hed worked, most recently as CFO, since 1986, and where he played Santa Claus for the past 25 years. Tom was an active member of St. Marys Catholic parish, where he was a frequent lector over the years, in addition to teaching CCD and evenings for the engaged, along with his wife, Paula. He was also active on the School Committee in Franklin for many years. Tom also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and kite flying on the beach. Even more than all of this, though, Tom loved to spend time with his large and extended family. Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Paula (Rossi) Wagner, son Thomas III (Tripp) and wife Cindy of New York City, daughter Kiki Hopkins and husband Andy of Ashland, daughter Lindsay Atherton and husband Eric of Nashua, NH, son Drew and wife Andrea of Holliston, and son Chad and wife Jenna of New York City, a sister, Nancy Blanchard, a brother Steve and wife Charlie. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Rachael, Avary, Benjamin, Emma, Jack, Ellery, Leo, and an anticipated eighth grandchild in November, as well as many nieces and nephews. A loving family man, caring friend, devoted employee and giver of sage advice, Tom will be missed sorely by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass Saturday Aug. 10th at 10AM in St. Marys Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin. His interment will be held privately. Calling hours are Friday Aug. 9th from 5-8PM at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin.
