Tsuyako (Ota) Halvorsen, 77, of Worcester, and a former longtime Franklin resident, died Friday, May 21, 2010, at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Raymond Halvorsen, and the wife of the late Leonel Leo Pacheco, who died in 1980. Born in Shizouka, Japan July 8, 1932 a daughter of the late Kakutaro and Yae (Endo) Ota, she was raised and educated in Japan and came to the United States in 1953. She lived in Franklin from 1958-1988. She was a retired certified nurse aide and worked in several greater Worcester area nursing homes. She loved sewing, dancing, and traveling. She is survived by three sons; Leo Pacheco of Dallas, Texas, Bruce Pacheco of Tucson, Ariz., and Stephen Pacheco of Cumberland, R.I., three daughters; Susan Gruttner and Cynthia Connolly of Bellingham, and Cheryl Menard of Attleborough, a brother Takashi Ota, and a sister Aiko Takasaki of Japan, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends were invited to attend her funeral Mass Tuesday, May 25, at 10 a.m., in St. Marys Church, 1 Church Sq. Franklin, MA 02038. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
