Vera M. (Hinkley) Weaver 87, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2016 after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond T. Weaver for 53 years. Born December 7, 1928 in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward & Mary (Barry) Hinkley. She was born and raised in Somerville MA, and moved to Franklin in 1958 to raise her family. Her professional career included John Hancock Insurance of Boston and South Shore Bank in Franklin. In her later career she thoroughly enjoyed serving the Wrentham Police Department as Secretary for the Chief of Police. She retired in 1989 when she and her late husband moved to St. Louis, Missouri before finally retiring to E. Dennis, MA on Cape Cod. She was a long time parishioner of St. Marys Church in Franklin. Vera and her late husband were also extremely active with the Franklin Knights of Columbus for many years. Vera adored children. She had a great sense of humor, spunky personality and loved to dance. She is survived by her children: Susan C. Rohan of Franklin, MA, her son Edward F. Weaver and his wife Ulrike of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Thomas M. Rohan Jr. and his wife Nicole, Heather Rohan and her companion Mary Beth Veneziano, Stephanie Fry and her husband John, Amanda Parker and her husband Brian, and Megan Rohan. Vera also has 6 cherished great grandchildren, Emma Rohan, Alexander, Justin & Charles Fry and Elyse & Brynn Parker. She was the sister of the late Edward T. Hinkley, Francis B. Hinkley and Winifred Cavanaugh. She was also the mother in-law of the late Thomas M. Rohan Sr. The extended Weaver family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Veras many caregivers in her final years including the wonderful staff at Forge Hill Senior Living in Franklin, Serenity Hill Nursing Home in Wrentham, Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Massachusetts and especially her long-time friends: Shirley Palermo and Joan Loud, both of Franklin, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral, Saturday, January 9 at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St. Franklin, MA, with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday January 8th from 5:00pm to 8:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to P.O. Box 3704 Memphis, TN 38173-3704.
