Virginia A. (Gemmel) Wenzel, 84, of Medway, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Countryside Health Care in Milford. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Wenzel who died in 1989. Born in Boston on July 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Andrew L. and Anna A. (Collins) Gemmel. Mrs. Wenzel grew up in West Roxbury and graduated from Roslindale High School. She later resided in Dedham until moving to Medway in 1960. Mrs. Wenzel was a homemaker for most of her life. She is survived by six children, Pamela Badger of Medway, Suzanne Grillo of Medway, Mark Wenzel of Millis, Lisa McDonald of Franklin, Walter Wenzel of Medway and Paul Wenzel of Holliston. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Madeline Maffeo and Paul Gemmel. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, June 22 at 9:15 a.m. from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Wenzels memory to Countryside Health Care, 1 Countryside Dr., Milford, MA 01757.
