W. Katherine Topsy (Gagne) Pruvot 88, of Franklin, died peacefully, at her home surrounded by her family, Monday February 13, 2012 following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Roland J. Pruvot who died in 1984. Born in Milford, on March 1, 1929 a daughter of the late Maurice and Winifred (Clewes) Gagne, she had lived in Millis for many years, before settling in Franklin with her family. She was raised in Millis, where her grandparents Frank W. and Katherine A. (McTigue) Clewes saw that she received a good education, and taught her many life lessons. After attending Burdette Business School, she worked as a kindergarten teacher at the former Happy Hours Nursery School in Franklin; she then worked for Whiting & Davis as a bookkeeper for many years until her retirement. A woman of strong family beliefs, she will be remembered as a devoted friend, a Good Samaritan, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and was always willing to help children with anything that they needed. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Franklin, was a supporter of all veterans organizations, and was part of the Santa Foundation in Franklin, and was a communicant of St. Marys Church. She is survived by her children; Jan K. Prentice of Franklin, Tommy M. Pruvot of Franklin, and Diane C. Esquibel of San Jose, California, and a sister Ann Dmytryck of Pocasset. Also surviving are her grandchildren; David Prentice, Jr. of Medway, Jennifer Sims of San Jose, CA, Jarrod R. Esquibel of San Jose, CA, Alyssa K. Esquibel of Las Vegas, Nevada, & great grandchildren; Alyssa Whitaker, Kaitlin Whitaker, Eric W. Prentice, Jordan K. Prentice, James Robinson, and Samantha Robinson & many extended family members. She was the mother of the late Richard V. Pruvot. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday Feb. 18th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. , with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM. Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, donation in her memory sent to the Purr-fect Cat Shelter P.O. Box 548 Medway, MA 02053 would be appreciated.
