William James Spiller, of Medway and formerly Natick, passed peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, in his 90th year, with his family by his side. Jim was the superintendent of the water department of Natick, a United States Marine, and veteran of World War II who survived the bombing of The USS Savannah. He leaves behind his wife, Phyllis Weatherby of Medway, formerly of Natick and Mashpee; his daughter, Karyl Louise Spiller-Walsh of Medway; son, Aaron Wingate Spiller of Natick, James Spiller Jr. (deceased); and a granddaughter, Rachel Rule Spiller Walsh. Visting hours are Monday, Oct. 4, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Chesmore Funeral Home (ChesmoreFuneralHome. com), 854 Washington St., Holliston. A funeral service at the funeral home will follow at 11:30 a.m., with burial in Dell Park Cemetery in Natick.
