Obituary Condolences

William McCarron, 79, of Franklin, died peacefully, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital following an illness. He was the husband of the late Janet M. (Hilton) McCarron, who died in 2012. Born February 26, 1935 in Boston, the son of the late William and Anna M. (Fulton) McCarron, he was a resident of Franklin for 48 years. He was raised and educated in Dorchester, and was a graduate of English High School. He also was a graduate of Bentley College, where he received a degree in accounting. Mr. McCarron was a retired accountant. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He attained the rank of Yeoman 2nd class, serving aboard the USS Macon and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in August 1957. William enjoyed all sports, but was most passionate about hockey and was a past president of the Franklin Youth Hockey Organization. He also treasured spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, reading and was a member of St. Brendan Parish in Bellingham. He is survived by his 3 sons, Thomas W. McCarron of Furlong, PA, Timothy J. McCarron and William M. McCarron both of Franklin, his grandchildren, Tara, Jack and Luke McCarron and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Kenneth and James McCarron and Joan McCarron Anderson. Relatives and friends were invited to attend his funeral Tuesday, Sept. 23rd at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., Franklin, with a funeral Mass in St. Brendan Parish 384 Hartford Ave. Bellingham, MA 02019 at 10 AM. Interment at New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
