William O. Lord Obituary
William O. Lord, 83, of Manville, and a longtime Franklin and Plymouth resident, died Thursday July 4, 2013 at the Home & Hospice Care Center of Rhode Island in Providence. He was the husband of the late Jean M. (Kuszynski) Lord, who died in 1996. Born in Boston October 28, 1929 a son of the late Robert and Kathleen (Butler) Lord , he was raised and educated in Boston, and was a 1949 graduate of the former Boston Commerce High School. A local businessman for many years, he owned and operated the former Footware of Franklin company and the Rendevous Caf in Woonsocket. He served proudly in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict, and was honorably discharged in October 1951. Mr. Lord was a life member and past Exulted Ruler of the Franklin Lodge of Elks, and was a former member of the Sandwich American Legion, the West Roxbury Council Knights of Columbus, the John Alden Sports Club in Plymouth, and was a ongtime coach for football and softball for St. Marys CYO in Franklin. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and enjoyed time spent in Plymouth, and with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by three daughters; Patricia J. Monfette and her husband Donald of Woonsocket, Kristine M. Lapham and her husband Rick of Lakeland, Florida and Mary E. Wyatt and her companion Larry Goodwin of Norwood, three sisters; Eleanor Avery of Roslindale, Barbara Stevens of Milton and Kathleen Quintaglie of West Roxbury, five grandchildren; Erica Monfette-Blades, Kurt, Christopher & Kaitlyn Wyatt, Sean Lord and five great grandchildren; Madalynn, Audrey, Aiden, Keigan and Kiley. He was the father of the late William O. Lord, Jr. and the brother of the late Robert Lord. A funeral service was held Monday July 8th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin , www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM. Interment with military honors followed at the parish cemetery. The Franklin Lodge of Elks will conduct a Lodge of Sorrows Service at the funeral home at 6PM.
