David S. Fleming, Jr., age 69, of Billerica, formerly of Wakefield, died after a brief battle with cancer on June 12, 2012, at Mt. Auburn Hospital. He was the husband of Georgeina (McDonald) Fleming and the late Diane (Jones) Fleming. Born in Cambridge, MA and raised in Burlington, MA; he was the son of Josephine (Andella) Fleming and the late David S. Fleming Sr. He was a graduate of Burlington High School in the class of 1962. Dave was a painting contractor at his family business, Skyline Decorators. For many years, Dave resided in Wakefield where he raised his family and opened his home to always welcome his childrens friends, as well. He was an enthusiastic hockey fan and a beloved coach and umpire for Wakefield Little League. He was the father of David Fleming III and his wife Leeann, Douglas Fleming, Kathryn Peveri, Donna Nelson, Darryl Fleming and his companion Brenda White, and Coleen Morrison. Also survived by grandchildren, Douglas McCormack, Erin and Kate Morrison, Robert Fleming, Hanah and Spencer Nelson, Brigitte Andrews and Joseph Peveri; his sisters, Linda Fleming and Deanna Pickett, many nieces and nephews and his pet Gizmo. Funeral services were held at the Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, Friday, June 15 at 10 A.M. followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours were Thursday, June 14, 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to a cancer fund.
