Eleanor "Ellie" Knox, 88, of Concord died at Emerson Hospital on September 6, 2013. Born in Boston, she lived in West Concord since 1959, where she worked and raised her family. She was head cook at the Rivercrest Deaconess Nursing Home over a span of twenty five years, and a receptionist there as well, in semi-retirement. Ellie was the wife of the late Robert Knox. She leaves her son Robert Knox Jr. of Maryland, daughter Leslie Erisman of Concord, daughter Marilyn Lowitt and husband Peter of Concord, grandchildren Matthew Bannister and wife Keri of Colorado, Sarah Erisman and husband Douglas Belmonte of Concord, Nick Lowitt of Colorado, Chris Knox and Amie Knox of Maryland, and great grandson Jacob Belmonte, brother Louis Rosalbo of Danvers, sister in law Grace Rosalbo of New York, and several nieces and nephews and their families, along with many long time friends in the area. She will be dearly missed by all. Ellie's greatest joy was in spending time with family and friends as a caring and loving part of so many lives over the years. She welcomed everyone who came for a visit, was a grandmother to many and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her as Ellie or Nan. She took great pride in her career as a cook and thoroughly enjoyed her time at "the Deaconess" until her final retirement. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday September 21st at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. Gifts in her name can be donated to Emerson Health Care Foundation, "Patient Care Staff Education Fund", 133 ORNAC, Concord, MA 01742. Arrangements are under the care of Charles W. Dee and Susan M.
