Obituary Condolences

Janet Grace (Schramel) Tieri, 60, a Maynard resident for over 25 years, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of 27 years of Robert M. Tieri, O.D., and loving mother of Paul R. Tieri of Maynard. Born in Cold Spring and raised in Saint Cloud, MN, she was the daughter of the late Alois and Catherine (Schearer) Schramel. Dr. and Mrs. Tieiri were married in St. Columbkille Parish in Brighton, and lived in Brighton for a time before settling in Maynard. Mrs. Tieri loved to read and enjoyed bible study at the Grace Chapel in Lexington, needle point, and time spent with her coffee group friends who met weekly and for special occasions. She was a long time volunteer with the Maynard schools and WAVM. In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by two brothers and three sisters: Marvin and Wilfred Schramel, Irene Niessen, Diane Bekius and Evie Eggert, all of MN; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was the sister of the late Ervin Schramel. Visiting hours will be held Thurs. Sept. 12th from 4:00-8:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 13th in St. Bridget's Church, 1 Percival Street, Maynard. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions in Mrs. Tieri's name to the M.S.P.C.A.- Angell Memorial, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
