Ruby Louise (White) Schroeder, 86, a native of Cincinnati and an Acton, MA resident for 48 years, died peacefully Thursday, May 2nd at her home with her family by her side. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of the late Allen Ludlow White and Minnie Louise (Kobel) White. Mrs. Schroeder had many happy memories of Withrow High School in Cincinnati, and later graduated college with a degree in interior design. Throughout her life her main focus was on her family. She loved taking her children for Sunday drives to see new places and enjoyed home schooling her grandchildren. A lifelong learner, she was interested in history, current events and was active in the community. Mrs. Schroeder loved to sing and dance, and especially enjoyed Theatre III in West Acton where she was a stage player and assisted with many aspects of the productions. In later years Mrs. Schroeder was employed in photography, sales and as a hostess with Valley Steakhouse, and her caring and patient nature was much appreciated at the Fernald School in Waltham, MA. where she worked as a nurse's aid. She is survived by her sister, Garnet Meents of Cincinnati; seven children and their families: Cynthia Lewis and her son Greg Lewis; Greg Schroeder, wife Betti and their daughter Jenafer Sneed; Rachel Cash and her children, Travis Cash, Victoria Cash, James Cash and his wife Jennifer and their children Alayna, Landon and Ty Cash; Mark E. Schroeder, wife Lynda their son Tim Schoeder and his daughter Xandra Schroeder; Matt Schroeder, wife Martina and their daughter Katrina, John T. Schroeder, wife Jan and their sons Steven and David; and Steven A. Schroeder and wife Betty. The family is planning a private service at her home at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Mrs. Schroeder's name to benefit the veterans' or firefighters' organization of one's choice.
