Elizabeth A. Tarpey

Elizabeth Ann Tarpey, of Braintree, age 23, passed away in Hawaii by accident while hiking on June 22, 2013. Born in Boston, she grew up in Braintree, graduated from the Braintree Public Schools, and was a graduate and alumna of Georgia Tech, Class of 2011. Elizabeth was a late member of Alpha Xi Delta and a charter member of Prince Kuhio Toastmasters International. Involved in athletics throughout her life, Liz was an avid hiker, skier, traveler and photographer. The beloved daughter of Chris and Mary C. (McMullin) Tarpey of Braintree, and cherished granddaughter of Thomas and Rose McMullin of Dorchester and Fred Tarpey of Milton and the late Kay Tarpey. She is survived by her devoted brothers, Noel of Braintree, and Nathan Tarpey of Boston. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton on Wednesday, July 3, at 10:30. Visiting hours was held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, on Tuesday, July 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment at Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Elizabeth A.
