Richard J. Dick Delorey, age 82, a lifelong Quincy Point resident, died peacefully, Saturday, May 11. 2013 at the John Adams HealthCare Center in Quincy, surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born, raised and educated in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1950. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal with one star, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Service Defense Medal and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation. Dick worked at the former Scotts Market in Quincy Point with his late father as operators of the meat concessions for over twenty years. He was later employed as a culinary arts instructor for the former South Coastal Skill Center in Quincy for fifteen years. Beloved husband for fifty-six years of Pauline A. (Dubois) Delorey. Devoted father of Steven J. Delorey and his wife Lisa of Saratoga, NY. Loving brother of Helen M. Isaac of Quincy, Linda L. Johnson of Braintree, Margaret Landry of NH and the late Geraldine Jaynes. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral was from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, One Independence Avenue, Quincy, Wednesday, May 15th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass was in Saint Josephs Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy at 10 a.m. Visiting hours were Tuesday, May 14, from 5 | 8 p.m. Interment with Military Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dicks memory may be made to Saint Josephs Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy, MA 02169.
