Maddalena Maddy (Leone) Leccese of Braintree for 38 years, formerly of Newton (Auburndale), passed away June 6, 2014, at the age of 69. She was the beloved wife of Richard M. Leccese; devoted sister of Marguerite Leach of Warwick, R.I., and Antonia Erwin of Attleboro; dear aunt to David Erwin, Susan Erwin, Anthony Erwin and his wife Mary Beth, James and Douglas Leccese; cherished great-aunt of Rachel, Olivia and Giuliana. Maddy was born in Warwick, R.I. She worked in the human resource department at the Merchant Coop Bank and later a human resource assistant at Ocean Spray Cranberry, Boston, for 22 years. Maddy was a member of the Sons of Italy of Braintree Ladies Lodge, the Italian American Cultural Organization of Braintree, and a member of the St. Cosmas and Damian Society of Cambridge. Reposing was at the Cartwright Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Visiting hours were Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Cosmas and Damian Society, 17 Porter St., Cambridge, MA 02141.
