Giacomo P. Jack Buonopane, age 81, formerly of Quincy, Medford and Watertown, died peacefully, Wednesday, July 8, 2014 at the Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Quincy, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born in Boston, raised and educated in Watertown schools and was a graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1952 and attended Northeastern University. He has lived in Braintree for thirty-five years, previously ten years in Quincy and six years in Medford. He was employed as office manager for the Electro Contracting Company of Waltham for twenty-six years. After retirement, he worked eight years as an accountant for American Fitness in Norwell. His passion was hockey. He was an avid player and fan for sixty years. He was proud to play in the Quincy Senior League for the Bald Eagles team. Jack was an active member of the Church of Saint Clare in Braintree, where he was a Eucharist Minister and former treasurer of the Holy Name Society. He was also a longtime member and served two years as Grand Knight of the Braintree Knights of Columbus and was a Fourth Degree member of the Cardinal OConnell Assembly. Beloved husband for fifty-two years of Frances N. (Mezzetti) Buonopane. Devoted brother of Paul J. Buonopane and his wife Mary of Lincoln, the late Mary Sue Burns and her husband William of Hudson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral was from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, July 14, at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass was in the Church of Saint Clare, 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree at 10 oclock.
