Charlaine H. (Foy) Draicchio, age 86, a lifelong Quincy resident, died peacefully, Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the John Adams HealthCare Center, surrounded by her loving family. Charlaine was born in Quincy and was raised and educated in Quincy schools. She was employed for over twenty years at the John Adams HealthCare Center in Quincy as a certified nursing assistant. As a young woman, she had worked for the American Mutual Insurance Company in Boston as a supervisor of statistics and earlier had worked in her familys business at the former Foys Market in Quincy. Charlaine loved to cook and delighted in cooking for her family every Sunday. She also enjoyed her yard, decorating and the holidays as well as dining out. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Charlaine was devoted to her family, especially to her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Charlaines family would like to thank the staff at the John Adams HealthCare Center for their loving and caring support and assistance these past few weeks. She was the wife of William P. Draicchio, Q.P.D., retired; devoted mother of Michele T. Paige-Kamborian of Quincy, William T. Draicchio of Quincy, Christopher T. Draicchio and his wife Kelly of Braintree, Michael T. Draicchio and his wife Kerry of Quincy. She is survived by nine loving grandchildren and two cherished great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Charles R. Foy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral was from the Sweeny Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Friday, August 1, at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass was in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, at 9 oclock. Visiting hours were at the funeral home Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment Saint Marys Cemetery, West Quincy.
